Persons of Standing
- Stockholder (Full Member/Owner)
- A stockholder is a person who acquires a share of stock in Yost Lake County Club, Inc, in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution. There are two types of stockholders as listed below. One vote is allowed per share of stock regardless of joint tenancy of the share.
- Cabin owning member
- Owns a defined cabin on Yost Lake property and has full facility rights.
- Non-cabin owning member
- Does not own a cabin on Yost Lake property and has full facility rights.
- Member’s family
- Persons who are either a non-stock holding spouse, biological child, or adopted child of a stockholding member.
- These persons are granted facility privileges while still married or until a child has reached the age of 21. These persons do not have voting rights.
- Sponsored Provisional Member
- Persons who are the biological or adopted child of a member who have reached the age of 21 and until they reach the age of 30 are eligible for facility rights and do not have voting rights.
- Grandfathered Junior Members (Now called Sponsored Provisional Member) are allowed until they reach the age of 35 at which point this provision is permanently removed as of the date of the youngest member. Missing dues for one year revokes status permanently to the grandfather clause.
- Guests
- Accompanied Guest
- An accompanied guest is any non-member invited by a member or sponsored provisional to Yost Lake property. Member or sponsored provisional must be on premises with guest/s and are responsible for their guest/s behavior and ensuring that all Yost Lake rules are observed.
- Unaccompanied Guest
- Any member who owns a cabin may rent or allow usage of their cabin to others (without the need to be on premises) by submitting the required documentation on the cabin rental/usage form. This document must be submitted to any acting Board member at least 3 days prior to anticipated usage and approval of usage must be accepted by majority of Board members. This allows time to get Board approval, inform member of Boards’ decision regarding usage, and alerting manager of cabin usage. It is understood that even though the member will not be present with their guests they are responsible for their guests’ actions and will provide guests with a copy of rules to be strictly enforced.
- Board of Directors
- The board is made up of seven volunteer Members who have been elected by the membership to have general control and management of the affairs of the club and the power to adopt all such rules and regulations for the governing and business of the club.
- Board shall not make changes to the constitution without a majority vote of membership.
- Board shall not have the right to Capital Expense funds without 60% votes in favor by the membership.

Season
Yost Lake has defined season of April 1st of each year until November 1st. Any dates outside of this period is defined as the off-season. Cabins may be occupied for the entirety of the season by membership. Fourteen overnight stays in the offseason are allowed to each cabin without any notice to the board. After fourteen overnight stays have been utilized a request for any additional periods must be requested and approved by the Board of Directors.
Dues
Membership dues are paid annually and are due at least half payment by January 31st and the second half payment due by April 30th. Failure to meet either of the payment dates by the required amount will result in late fees being assessed.
Lake and Grounds
- All persons shall conduct themselves with courtesy and respect to others. Failure to keep the peace may result in action from the board including suspension of membership and access to Yost Lake property. Violence or aggression towards others is a zero-tolerance offence.
- Quiet time has been established Sunday through Thursday beginning at 10:00pm until 8:00am and also on Friday and Saturday beginning at 2:00am to 8:00am.
- The speed limit for all powered vehicles is 7mph. Speed limit is enforced all year and includes all roadways on property.
- Open burns and burn piles are prohibited on Yost Lake property. The board and caretakers/managers may burn trees/brush for the maintenance of the property. Contained open flames in fire pits and chimeneas are allowed unless a declared fire pit ban has been announced by the board.
- Dogs must be kept on a leash when not inside cabins or enclosed vehicles. Dogs may utilize the golf course area for non-leashed activities. Dog defecation must be picked up at all times. Failure to adhere to these rules may lead to the animal being banned on property.
- Fireworks, firearms including bb guns, airsoft guns, paintball guns, mini-bikes, go-karts, and all-terrain or other off-road vehicles are prohibited on premises. Sparklers and snake novelties are allowed while under the supervision of an adult only for use the in manner intended.
- A driver’s license is required for all drivers of any powered vehicle on property. All vehicles require the use of lights if driven at night. All passengers must be seated with the vehicle during operation.
- No bicycles, skateboards, roller blades, street shoes, lawn chairs, golf carts, or other items to be on the tennis courts.
- Life preservers are required to be worn on any child 13 years or younger on a moving vessel. Life preservers are required for each person in a boat. Members are required to provide adequate life preservers for themselves and guests. Yost Lake is not responsible for providing life preservers.
- Yost lake watercraft must be returned to their proper place of housing immediately after use and by 10:00pm each night.
- No trotlines or boat motors will be allowed on the lake at any time. Only electric trolling motors are allowed for propulsion.
- Use of well water for lawn watering, and car washing is prohibited. Well water by non-lake facing cabins on the west side may be used for watering trees and flowers if present and monitored. Requests for sod/seeding water may be requested for the board. Requests should not occur during high usage time in the season.
- Member suggestions or complaints regarding the operation of the lake and grounds or its employees should be address with the board. Members shall not address managers/caretakers/employees directly and the board shall maintain responsibility of those relationships.
Equipment/Real Property
- Yost Lake equipment/property cannot leave Yost Lake grounds.
- The Board must approve the loaning of any equipment to be used on the premises and is responsible for notifying the caretaker/manager of approval. The Board will notify the borrower(s) of their responsibilities. Yost Lake maintenance equipment is not allowed for personal use.
- Yost Lake common area property such as grill, projector, karaoke machine, sound systems, food/beverage machines are not allowed to be used or rented by membership for personal use or private parties.
Swimming Area/Clubroom
- Swimming only allowed in the pool area within rope boundaries.
- Clubroom/Swimming hours are set and posted by the Board. Lifeguard schedule is managed and posted by the Board.
- Swimming is allowed only in the pool area without lifeguards on duty at your own risk. No solo swimming allowed. Parental supervision required for all child swimmers under the age of sixteen without a lifeguard on duty.
- When temperature/heat index reaches 100 degrees, the lifeguards may close down the pool periodically for 30-minute breaks inside the clubroom.
- Pets are not allowed in the clubroom or in the swim area. The swim area is defined as the playground area directly north of the clubroom, the sunbathing area in from of the clubroom, and the south side of Memory Lane (brick pathway from horseshoe pit up to the landing pier entrance).
- Children under twelve years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult while swimming or on any Yost Lake watercraft.
- Swimmers must pass a swimming test to swim beyond the first rope in the swimming area without wearing a life preserver or without an adult physically present. Lifeguards will administer the swimming test and determine the outcome of the swimming tests. Swimming test times are at the behest of the lifeguards on duty. Swimmers that are struggling may be asked to take the test again to verify consistent abilities of the swimmer.
- Rules are posted at the swim area and may change at any time.
- Lifeguards and the Board may remove and ban anyone from the swimming area for not following rules, behavior issues, or any issue causing disruption or safety issues.
- Clubroom is available for use by all Members and their guests until such privileges are abused. The south room is reserved for adults 18 years and older only, Cleaning is the responsibility of those Members who utilize the Clubroom.
Cabin Owner Responsibilities
- All plans for landscaping, construction, or modification to existing structures including, cabins, decks, docks, and other built-in features must be submitted in writing to the Board for approval before such work is begun. Any work started without Board approval may be subject to removal and fines. Plans of construction or landscaping must not obstruct the lakefront. Upon plan approval by the Board, work must start within one year of the approval date and completed within eighteen months of approval date. Work not started on time is subject to starting the approval process over again and shall not continue under the previously approved plans until approved again. Construction and landscaping work not completed within eighteen months of approval date may be subject to rules enforcement and fines. Variances are 25 feet to the lakefront from any point of construction and 20 feet between cabins. Any structure already existing as of January 1st 2021 that does not meet the variances has already been approved according to the existing variances in place for the structure. Plans to modify or rebuild should re-evaluate variances at the planning stage and if no reasonable accommodation may be made to adjust the variances of the structure may use existing boundaries for modification plans.
- All plans must be submitted with details included general scope, building materials, variance and layout planning. Permit for New Construction form will be submitted for consistent review of plans to the Board.
- The Board must be notified of any outside contractor or service provider working at your cabin without the Member being present. The Board may require proof of insurance prior to provider gaining access to the property. Provider should only be given the contractor gate code after Board notification and the provider should only utilize the contractor codes and not Member codes. Provider should be alerted to speed limits and any applicable rules in accordance with the areas that they are to perform work in.
- Planting of trees is allowed on property and the Member is responsible for planning and appropriately spacing of any trees or plants. Trees should be sized appropriately for their intended location and should not be placed to interfere with other cabins, sewage lines, utilities, and other structures. A mowing path of 6 feet is required around planted trees. Eastern Red Cedar trees are prohibited from planting.
- Members must maintain a clean, uncluttered external appearance for all cabins and structures. Cabin exteriors must be kept safe and free from dangerous clutter.
- Personal watercraft, golf carts, grills, toys, and other personal property must be stored in a manner to allow for easy mowing access as well as to maintain an attractive exterior presence for all cabins. Storage of unused or non-working vehicles, trailers, or other unsightly materials is not allowed. Members will be asked to remove items that are stored at Yost Lake that do not adhere to the rules. The Board has the right to remove these items at the expense of the owner if not removed by request.
- Board approval is required for all storage buildings/structures. Walk in storage buildings are prohibited. Non-walk-in storage containers kept adjacent to the cabin may be submitted for Board approval. Existing structures as of January 1st 2021 have already been approved.
- No dishwasher or washing machines are allowed in personal cabins. Only the Caretaker/Manager cabin and Clubroom are allowed such appliances.
- Docks are to be maintained and kept in safe condition and are available for general club usage. If a dock is not maintained or deemed unsafe by the Board, it must be repaired or removed at the expense of the cabin owner.
- Any transfer of stock and/or cabin ownership requires Board approval in advance of such action. Stock certificates cannot be transferred to a trust or other non-natural entity and are only to be held by natural persons. Approval of new owner must occur before the sale is completed according to the new member processes of Yost Lake.
Guests and Facility/Cabin Rentals
- Members can host up to 24 guests on grounds without approval of the Board. The Member must be present in order to host guests.
- The Board must approve gatherings of 25 or more guests. Member must submit a completed Guest Usage form. Facility usage fee of $250.00 is to be paid upon approval.
- Guests may use Yost Lake facilities/rent cabins without Member present if submitted via Guest Usage form. The Board must approve the guest usage before guest is granted access to premises.
- Facility rental for events require Board approval, proof of insurance of $1,000,000 and accompanying hold harmless agreement. Facility rental must be applied using the Facility Request form.
- The Board may request background information and perform background checks on any persons entering Yost Lake premises.
- Cabin rentals to guests are restricted to ten days per season at no charge. After ten days has been utilized, the Member may continue inviting guests with a day pass/gate fee of $25.00 per day.
- Members are responsible for providing guests with rules.
Rule Enforcement
- It is the responsibility of the Member, family, and guests, to adhere to federal, state, county, and any municipality laws as well as the governance of the Yost Lake constitution and rules. Any members not abiding by established laws and rules may be subject to action by the Board in the form of fines, reimbursed expenses, and other punitive actions. Serious violations may result in immediate action from the board including suspension of membership and access to Yost Lake property.
- Continued violation of rules will result in action by the board including but not limited to:
- First offense: Notification from the board in writing with the violation.
- Second offense: Notification from the board in writing stating the violation and a $50.00 fine.
- Third offense: Notification from the board in writing stating the violation and a $100.00 fine as well as suspension of Member privileges until the matter is resolved according to the Board’s actions of remedy. Failure to satisfy or repeated violations after the third notification may accumulate fines until remedy is realized.
The Board will request law enforcement assistance in arrest of any Members, guests, or trespassers violating law on premises.
The Board and Caretaker/Manager have the authority to remove any persons from the grounds for rule violations and non-compliance.
Rules are submitted by the Board of Directors under Article V, Section 4, of the Yost Lake Constitution. The Board shall, prior to the start of each season, adopt and post such rules as they deem necessary. Rules shall be posted in the Clubroom as well as website and furnished to membership.
